Cinnamon and Sugar Spread

So remember in this post I said that I would share a recipe on here that will remind you of your childhood? Well here it is! I got this recipe from my neighbor Megan. It is DELICIOUS! When you were younger, did you make some toast for breakfast and butter it up with lots of butter.. then dump cinnamon and sugar on it? I sure did! This recipe is just that. Except it is all in one bottle and its pure deliciousness! Your kids will love it as well.

Cinnamon and Sugar Spread
In a medium saucepan melt 1 cube butter and 1/2 c. evaporated milk.
Add 1 Tbsp. cinnamon and 2 C. sugar stir over low heat until dissolved.
(**Tara's tip--be careful to keep stirring the mixture until the sugar is dissolved.. i might have burned the bottom (which resulted in white stringy/chunky things) the first time i attempted it!)

I put it in Bell Jars and then refrigerated it. To use, put a little in a bowl and nuke it in the microwave for 5 seconds!

Super yummy to spread on toast!

Then bottle it up and have your little cutie deliver it to your nice neighbor who was kind enough to come take your dogs out when you couldn't! :) (Thanks Heather!)

1st {of many} Craft Days!

Well a few Saturdays ago we had our first {like I said.. of MANY} craft days with some of my favorite people. It was awesome! We all got to work on some projects that we have been wanting to do SANS kids! It was great. Sorry for everyone who was here and not in these pictures.. you should of stayed the whole 12 hours that we all did! haha! It was so fun to see what everyone worked on. I wanted to make one of everything... Hayley made a cute outfit for Grace, Ashley just watched everyone be crafty, Amy brought Broccoli that made my whole house smell like a poopy diaper, I sewed dang bows for my sisters bedding for 7 straight hours then made a skirt, Jen, Lisa and Jamie made these cute Valentines topiaries, Kara crocheted with a babe attached at the boob!! (how is that for skill??) Britch crocheted like a maniac, and Jennie and Angie.. why don't I remember what you guys did? Did I miss anyone?

Anyway.. here are some pictures from the day! We need to do it again.. and soon! Anyone want to come?? We had more room!

and these might be the funniest pictures ever.. why on earth couldn't we get a single good one? Oh well..

My 7 hour long bows! AAAH. I want to rip my hair out even thinking about making that again.
I need to take a picture of my nephews finished room. You will all die from its cuteness.

And just because I didn't want that bedding to be the only thing I made, I made a quick and easy skirt. (Since then, the huge ugly flower has been replaced by a much smaller little cluster.)

I started a new quilt yesterday! I finished the top in about an hour. It was fun! I can't wait to get it finished. :) I am going to attempt to quilt it myself. Yikes!

We need to do it again ladies.. I had a blast! :)

I need one of these!!

Oh.My.Gosh. I need one of these bags. And if you are wondering.. yes, I am sure I could justify it. It isn't a 'purse' it is so much more. :) It is one of the cutest camera bags I have ever seen. Wait.. it IS by far the cutest camera bag I have ever seen. Pricey?? Yes. Worth it? You better believe it! haha! I hate carrying around my dSLR because of how ugly my bag is. (hence all of the iPhone pictures) Do I sound convincing yet?? I need to practice for when I ask Braun for it. haha! Anyway.. check out her cute bags and her blog here. And like she says here... START SAVING!! :)

And if you are spoiled and don't need to save up for it.. go buy one HERE!!!

Nail Polish Lover??

Well I have always had a thing for buying new nail polish.. even though I always seem to go back to my favorite pinks and plums. If you are into that sort of thing (and I don't see how you couldn't be!!) .. I suggest you look at the blog SCRANGIE. She reviews anything and everything and for all of you nail polish lovers like myself!

Refashioning Techniques!!

Well.. I didn't get around to making (the delicious recipe!!) what I was going to today. Instead I hung out with Rachel and we let our kids run crazy in my house. It was fantastic and just what I needed! :) Hopefully I can get to it tomorrow. Until then.. I saw this post today and loved it. What a great idea to extend the life of your kiddies clothes and make them even cuter while your at it!

Check out all of her cute refashioning techniques HERE! Click through the archives.. she has a LOT of fun ideas on her blog!

My Butter Ball!

Okay.. it isn't really called a "butter ball" (isn't that like a little chubby kid??) I think it is called a Butter Bell. Anyway, I discovered something that I thought you people would love too! Okay so my mother-in-law has one of these and I didn't really see the benefit until I was constantly ripping apart my bread while I tried spreading frozen butter on it AND I think leaving butter on a plate on your counter is disgusting. (Sorry if you do it, I just think about all the dust and things flying in the air that are attaching to it and it makes me want to vomit!) Sooo.. I present to you a Butter Bell!

Take your Butter Bell (I found mine here which is a store at Gateway Mall) and your thawed butter.

Squish as much butter as you can into the Butter Bell hole!

Fill the bowl with 2" of COLD water.. this keeps it from spoiling. Switch out the water every 3-4 days and you can store your butter in it for 30 days before it spoils! :)

It is always at a spreadable consistency! Ooh.. just looking at this makes me happy!

Now the real test..

I'd say she likes it! :)

Yes, you may think I am weird for posting about a kitchen gadget that I love.. but really, it is awesome and you all should get one. Plus, it looks cute sitting on your counter. I am coming back tomorrow to post an AMAZING recipe that you will all love. It will remind you of your childhood. I Promise.

Well I am sorry for not doing this sooner. For some reason, everytime I would sit down to do it.. I would get a feeling like, "Tara.. you really need to research where you are going to donate the money." I know it isn't a ton of money, but I did want it to go somewhere that I knew would really help the children of Haiti. I have seen so many pictures of little babies and toddlers that have been hurt by this earthquake and really, I wanted to find like some orphanage to donate it to or something like that. Well, last night I was watching a show on Haiti and how much the Red Cross does with the money that gets donated. Neat Slideshow HERE! So I am back to where I started.. Should have just donated it there in the first place. My indecisiveness makes me crazy!!!! Anyway.. Just thought you would all like to know that during the week of January 15th-January 22nd we raised $1,426.33 over at www.bitsyblossoms.com Can I get a BOOYAAHHHH!??! hahah :)

Here is the screenshot of the donation!

GO US!!!

Thank you to whoever reposted this and to whoever bought headbands!
