I'm off...

To take this little chick to the doctor to find out why she finds it
necessary to cry ALL.DAY.LONG! Wish me luck!! I'm also thinking I need
to force a binky upon her. Ya know, to help my sanity (and my "you
know whatties") .....Again, send some good luck my way ...or some lovely parental advice. I seriously need it.

Well, I am now back from the doctor. She has some good ole' Acid Reflux along with a little fever from her cold! They put her on Prevacid. Hopefully that will help! They also put some stuff that made her eyes GLOW under the black light to see if she had scratched them. It was super creepy and it scared the heck out of Emery. haha ;) Poor girl! Em kept going, "They hurt her mommy!" It also amazes me the memory that Em has already. Remember at your kids 2 week check up how they put the glove filled with warm water on their little heel? Well.. Em saw a glove and asked me to put warm water in it. I didn't even have clue as to why she would want me to do that, but I did it anyway. Well.. I filled it up for her and she immediately went to put it on Anistens heel! Too funny.. that was almost 6 weeks ago! Am I just dumb or do kids really remember things from that long ago and its normal?? Okay.. now I am sounding dumb. I better go.

Oh no, that is so hard! I wish you tons of good luck!
I would try the binky! I know that Brayden didn't take his until he was like 5 months but now whenever he is upset we put his "plug" in and he is happy as can be.
You need to have something to help so I would give the binky a try!
good luck though!

Oh no I'm sorry Brynlee would never take a bink I tried a ton of different things but none of them worked she did learn to self soothe pretty early though! Good Luck I hope your dr can figure it out!!

Do you think she might have reflux? Taelie would do the same thing -- cry and cry and cry, and she'd want to constantly eat (they say that helps soothe their throats). She has a silent reflux too, where she doesn't spit up a ton but you can hear her gagging (SO sad!). As soon as we got the medication in her, she was a whole new baby! It did take about a week for it to take full effect though. Good luck! I hope the dr. is able to figure it out! And good luck with the binky- Taelie loves hers, and sometimes it's a lifesaver! (although I do worry about breaking her of the habit later!)

Oh gosh, give her the binkie, its definately for your sanity, and you know whaties!! Dont' be one of those crazies who vows not to use a binkie, they really are great, and research shows it lessens the chance of babies dying of SIDS in the night, cause it keeps their brain in action to suck!
Anyway, she might have colic or something, its pretty common. Sorry, thats definately no fun, and really frustrating when you think you've done all you can, and it doesn't get better.
Hang in there!

My little Tiger had acid reflux too. I didn't figure it out until WAY later. It is good you are catching it early. It will definitely help your sanity. It is kinda sad that she has that. I am sure it hurts like heck. I still need to come visit you and that little one. I will do that sometime soon. I PROMISE!

I LOVE the binky. I start my kids on the binky from day 1 and it works fine. I need it for my sanity. It takes awhile for them to take it and not act like they are gaggging but stick with it and you will LOVE it. good luck with the acid reflux.

Emma still remembers things from Florida, so yes. kids can remember things forever!!!! And I tried a million binkies with both girls and no luck. I kind of think some kids like them and others prefer those "you know whaties"!!!!

I tried and tried, but my little one wouldn't take a binky either. She had acid reflux until about one year and nothing worked except for prevacid. You're definitely on the right track in my opinion, if that means anything! What finally worked for me was a super tight feeding schedule (via Babywise book) and my problems were solved within a week, no joke, one week. That book is incredible ad I recommend it to everyone I know. I do have a two year old thumb sucker now, but that little habit did help us survive the crazy initial period of baby stress. Best of luck to you Tara, you're an incredible mama.

Reed was put on Prevacid and it did wonders when he was little! It does take a while to kick in though. I hope things improve! Reed also never took a binky and that is really hard. I use to watch Mom's in church or other places just pop a paci in their babies mouth when they would fuss and wish I could have cause all Reed wanted was ME!!! :) Fun, fun!

Aaahhhh...the joys of a crying baby. Cooper was the same way...and also refused to take a binkie. Although he didn't have reflux, he just loved crying. Don't worry, it will pass.

And I also can't thank you enough for those headbands!! I am sorry I am so late on thanking you. I was going to comment right after and then magically I forgot. Not really...I forget EVERYTHING. So thanks a bunch, that was so nice of you. I can't believe there are so many!
