I was just looking at Heather Baileys blog and read her latest post about her fabrics coming into your local fabric stores. Weellllll, she wrote...
" Nadine, from Material Girls Quilting in Utah, emailed me with news that many of my fabrics were delivered today and that before she even had them unpacked, one customer purchased 28 yards of Pop Garden alone. Nadine says she's been receiving several calls a day in anticipation of my new collections. I think I might just have to make my way up there & meet these girls sometime. Sounds like there's some wild-sewing taking place in South Jordan, Utah."
And guess who that was that purchased 28 yards of her Pop Garden??? ME!!!! I thought that was funny.. Heather Bailey probably thinks I am crazy. She has no idea that she just made my day :)
Yesterday was a BIG day for Braun!! Since we have moved all over the place during our summers, this was the first year that he was in town for his birthday in the past 6 years. Techincally, his birthday isn't until tomorrow, but we got to celebrate with everyone in both of our families yesterday. It was so fun. He had to leave Richmond, VA at 2 am to get home in time for church so by the time church had ended, he was exhausted. He was a good sport though!! Here are some fun pictures from yesterday.. I didn't take very many. I had a POUNDING headache the whole time that wouldn't go away.
What a AWESOME daddy.. he let Emery blow out all of his candles :)
My mom found Emery and Kendall these cute little shoes and purses at the Dollar Store last week. Emerys poor feet were a little fat for them, but she made them work. These girls play so cute together. Thanks mom for the cute shoes! Em loves them!! If any of you have Brauns number, be sure to send him a text tomorrow!!
How CHEESY was that?? Very. Well, notice how in my last post I wished for Emery to sleep for 6 hours? Well, it almost happened. She took a 5 hour nap! It was wonderful :) I was able to do a little sewing. Want to see what I made? **TaDa!!** Emery has decided that instead of it being her changing pad, it is her blanket. Whatever it is, I am dang proud. Turned out super cute :) Only a few minor mistakes. Oh and 1 major one. The next time I make one, I will be pro. Anyone want to come over and make one with me? One side is fabric, the other side is a plush fluffy chenille. I just used things I had on hand. Next time, I think I will buy a white soft towel and cut it up for the backing. We will see... I even had time to make myself a cute fabric flower for my hair. I just have to add one last thing and then I will post a picture.
Okay, so Emery had another poop incident this morning. She came up to me going "eeew mommy...sick...ewwww" I had no idea what was going on until she wiped one of her hands on me. I won't go into any details, but I sure hope this taking the diaper off thing is just a phase. I am actually kinda happy that happened (in a weird sort of way..) because if it didn't, I probably wouldn't of been able to do this... Meet Grandma Emery.
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time...I round brushed Emery's hair!! I had never done it before and I will never do it again, but it sure was funny to see. She has the tightest curliest hair and she just thought she was so cute with her hair straight (for the hour). She was posing left and right (of course, none were caught on camera) This poor girl is going to hate her hair when she grows up. It is already back to the tight little curls that it usually is in and it has only been a few hours. It isn't even humid here! She is starting to look so old to me.. it is so crazy to see how fast your little kids grow up. She is so fun to hang out with all day. Most days, I can't wait for her to wake up from her naps so that I can play with her and hear the funny new things she is learning to say everyday. I am so grateful to be her mommy. She is such a sweet little girl :) I think I take it for granted how fun and easy my life really is. I wouldn't change a thing!! My friend Jenna told me about this lady whose daughter choked on an apple a little while ago. I can't even imagine how hard that must be to lose a child. That would be the hardest thing to ever have to go through. If you want to read the moms blog, click HERE. I will warn you though, you will cry your eyes out.
I am not sure why I feel so bored today. I definately have PLENTY to do.. maybe I am just in a BORING mood. Yep, that could be it. Well, I have so many crafts that I have been wanting to do lately. I can't wait for Emery to take her nap for the day. Lets hope its 6 hours today instead of 3. Wanna see what is on my agenda??
I've been wanting to make Emery a new travel blanket. Small enough to lug around airports, but still soft and cuddly so she will love it. If you don't know how, I found this tutorial that can help you! Inside Out Cuddly Blanket. THEN, I want to use that same idea and make myself a new changing pad. My last one is falling apart and with all of the new cute fabric I have purchased this past week.. why not?? THEN... I think I will make some flowers and a headband that Rachel posted on her blog. They are dang cute... I want some for every outfit. (Do any of you watch Gossip Girl?? I totally want to be one of them. I am not kidding in the LEAST bit. Serena is beautiful...) See! And Melanie, remember what you used to say about Jennifer Aniston?? Yep, I feel the same about her. haha! :)
Okay.. back to crafts. Here are the cute flowers that Rachel made :)
Suprise for me!! Just made my weekly run to the fabric store (2nd time for this week!!) and they had Heather Baileys new line in!! I'm so excited;) This line is going to make the cutest bags!! I think Braun might kill me soon though. I have bought 130 yards oft fabric this week. (sorry hunny!!) I have an excuse though!! I signed up for 6 craft shows this fall and just got an order from a lady for 84 Litter Bags. I'm going to be a busy busy woman!! Good for me. I need chaos in my life.
Okay.. for those of you that went to the SLC Olympics, we had nothing NEAR this cool. I got this in my email from Brauns dad. I thought it was pretty sweet! I have always wanted to go to China. ALWAYS... I think it started with my obsession with Hello Kitty (when I was in High School--embarrassing!!) I just think of all the sweet trinkets AKA junk that I could buy!! Fun! :)
"Tara said that I was in charge of picking three winners for this awesome Glitter Toe competition! I liked a lot of the names but narrowed it down to the top three. So 3rd place goes to the Gleaves with "Harley", 2nd Place goes to Danica with "Adia", and 1st place goes to The Clarks with "Ivy". Thanks a ton to all of you for giving is some great ideas for girl names. If you know me I am kinda not the most creative thinker when it comes to names. I think it drives Tara crazy! So thanks again. Have an awesome day!!!"
Anyway, call me and we can set up a time to get your toes bling blingin!!!
Bored?? Want to be crafty?? Well, I sure do. I have been searching for some new fabrics for my bags, but I have came upon a few fun crafts to do as well! Here is a cute flower book. I think this flower would look adorable on a girls t-shirt, tank top or onesie as well! Super cute... These cute fabric cufflets that are found here! Now you totally can't make these unless you are stinkin' sweet on a sewing machine.. but I think I need to order some. Actually, I will. They are so funny that they are dang cute. I just picture my new little girl in a pair and it makes me smile!! :) Enjoy... and if you want some, go HERE! They're might be a little "much" for church, but I don't care. I'm over the top sometimes..
